There are many immunizations needed to keep your child (and everyone else) safe from dangerous diseases. We all know that small children can be little bundles of joy as well as little germ factories. Keeping your baby safe requires visiting your healthcare provider more than once because your child needs all the recommended shots.
If your baby does not get all of her shots, she may contract measles, mumps, hepatitis A or B, chickenpox and other infectious diseases. One of the consequences of not getting your child properly immunized is that when she gets sick she will miss time in daycare and preschool and you will lose time while taking her to be treated. No one likes to see their little one not feel good. The loss of time can extend for weeks because many of these illnesses can be severe. The more serious consequences are a chance for long-term disabilities or even death. But ultimately, you don't want your child to be in pain or feel badly if they don't have to.
Because immunizations prevent highly contagious diseases, you not only keep your own child healthy but their friends, family and classmates too.
