News on Babies Born Early

Because both myself and my daughter were born prematurly, I understand this recent article on babies born early on several levels.

The article For babies born early, health risks later in life By Thomas H. Maugh II of the Los Angeles Times, gives some very interesting facts. According to the article;

One in eight U.S. infants is born prematurely, a total of more than half a million per year, despite the best efforts of physicians to bring more pregnancies to full term - defined as 38 weeks or longer.
