You can't guarantee the origin of car seats on ebay nor can your be assured that these are brand new car seats. You should only buy a new car seat, unless you can guarantee that your car seat has NEVER been in an accident. Car seats also have expiration dates, and you can't confirm the manufacture dates of a car seat on ebay. Buy new from a reputable dealer. It's worth the extra cash for your child's safety.
Sally thank you for your words of advice. You are correct in saying that items purchased for your baby should be safe and new, but I think you are making an assumption that I may be able to clear up.
Buying online from eBay or any other retailer can be as safe as buying from a store. In all buying situations, rather online or in a store the buyer must always beware. Buyers need to know and understand the conditions of the transaction that they are involved in. Conditions such as; cost, condition of item, refund policy, return policy, shipping cost, etc.
I think that you are assuming that all items on eBay are used. This is incorrect. Many of the sellers on eBay are small businesses that sell brand new items, new and in the box, just like the ones sold in retail stores. And anyone buying items for their baby should make sure that they are buying from a seller who sells brand new items and has a good reputation.
