
In a move that is in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., of Bentonville, Ark. is voluntarily recalling the Nu-Tronix Karaoke Cassette Player/Recorders. A total of about 220,000 units will be recalled. The recall is because the paint on the control buttons on the player contain excessive lead. This poses a lead poisoning hazard to young children.
Lead poisoning in children is associated with behavioral problems, learning disabilities, hearing problems, and growth retardation.

If your child owns one of these you can return it to your nearest Wal-Mart for a refund.
